Langley's Sue Kim won her first Symetra Tour event in grand style Sunday, firing a final round nine-under 63 and then birdieing the first playoff hole to beat American Laura Kueny.

Kim, a former B.C. Junior Girls champion, earned $15,000 for her win at the Decatur-Forsyth Classic in Decatur, Ill. She finished the event at 10-under par.

Sunday's bogey-free 63 included nine birdies for Kim, who had started the final round tied for 36th.

The Symetra Tour is the official developmental tour of the LPGA Tour. The top 10 finishers on its money list at year's end earn full playing privileges on the 2014 LPGA Tour.

The win moved Kim into the top spot on the money list with nearly $32,000.

Kim has conditional status on this year's LPGA Tour.
