Redwoods Golf Course is looking for an experienced and reliable individual to join our turf care team as a Grounds Person!

We are looking for someone with at least two seasons of experience on a golf course grounds crew. This is a part-time, seasonal position that lasts until the end of November, weather depending, with an average of 40 hours of work per week.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate various groundskeeping equipment and power tools up to and including tractors, aerators, topdressers and greens rollers
• Mow greens, tees, aprons, fairways, low-maintenance rough and other turf areas
• Participate in unsupervised course renovation projects
• Assist in cultural work such as aerating, topdressing and applying granular fertilizer
• Assist with weed removal and management
• Maintain on-course bunkers
• Daily course set up, such as filling divots on tees and fairways and setting tees and pins
• Perform other duties associated with daily golf course and property maintenance, such as brush and debris removal, hand watering, operating irrigation controllers etc.
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Other duties as assigned

• Knowledge of golf and/or the ability to play the game is an asset

Qualifications:

• Two or more years of experience on a golf course maintenance team or in a related field
• Valid Basic First Aid with CPR-C and AED Certification, or equivalent, will be required to be maintained during employment
• Willingness to complete a Police Information Check is required
• Valid BC driver's license is required
