Redwoods Golf Course is looking for an enthusiastic and reliable individual to join our turf care team as a Junior Grounds Person! This is a seasonal position from approximately March to November with an average of 40 hours of work per week. This is an entry-level role, so no direct experience is needed!
Being on the Grounds Crew provides the opportunity to work outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine throughout the spring and summer. Shifts are primarily Monday - Friday but some weekend shifts will be required throughout the season.
As a Junior Grounds Person, you will be introduced to the world of golf course maintenance. As the season progresses, so will your responsibility list! As you become more comfortable and capable, we will give you new opportunities for growth.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate various groundskeeping equipment and power tools including: string trimmers, backpack blowers, hand tools, push mowers, entry-level ride-on mowers, pull-behind turbine blowers and walk-behind self-propelled mowers
- Mow greens, tees, aprons and other turf areas
- Assist in the daily course set up by filling divots on tees and fairways, and setting tees and pins
- Participate in supervised course renovation projects
- Assist with weed removal and management
- Assist with bunker maintenance
- Perform other duties associated with daily course and property maintenance, such as brush and debris removal
- Maintain a clean working environment
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities:
- Team oriented
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Physically able to carry out the functions of the position
- Knowledge of golf and/or the ability to play the game is an asset
Qualifications:
- Valid Basic First Aid with CPR-C and AED Certification, or equivalent, is required to be maintained during employment
- Willingness to complete a Police Information Check is required
- Valid BC driver's license is required
- Experience on a golf course maintenance team or in a related field is an asset
