Position Overview:

Reporting to the Course Superintendent, the Student Grounds Person is responsible for maintaining the beauty and playability of the golf course and surrounding property. This entry level position plays a role in maintaining the course and providing an exceptional golf experience for all guests. This is a seasonal position that typically runs from June to September, based on weather. Early morning availability is required.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Operate various groundskeeping equipment and power tools including: string trimmers, backpack blowers, hand tools, push mowers, walk-behind mowers, and entry level ride on mowers
• Assist in the daily course set up by filling divots on tees and fairways
• Participate in supervised course renovation projects
• Assist with weed removal and management
• Assist with bunker maintenance
• Perform other duties associated with daily golf course and property maintenance such as brush and debris removal
• Maintain a clean working environment
• Other duties as assigned

• Ability to work in all weather conditions
• Physically able to carry out the functions of the position
• Knowledge of golf and/or the ability to play the game is an asset

Qualifications: 

• Valid Basic First Aid, with CPR, and AED Certification, or equivalent will be required to be maintained during employment
• Willingness to complete a Police Information Check is required
• Valid BC driver’s license is required
• Experience on a golf course maintenance team or in a related field is an asset
