**must be flexible to work during daytime and evening hours on weekdays and weekends**

This position typically offers approximately 30 - 40 hours of work per week from March to November

Redwoods is a tip-free facility so there are no tips or gratuities on top of the posted wage.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Executive Chef and Sous Chef to prepare the kitchen, run the line, and close the kitchen down
  • Lead the kitchen team in the absence of the Executive Chef and Sous Chef
  • Provide input for new menu items and daily specials
  • Develop and demonstrate a complex understanding of the full menus, including the concession, food truck, restaurant, weddings and banquets
  • Skillfully carve whole meats or cook steaks in front of guests
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of food to various locations, including the food truck, concession etc.
  • Set up, operate, and close down the food truck for events
  • Ensure that the quality standards set by the Executive Chef are consistently achieved
  • Communicate any issues with food products to the appropriate manager
  • Monitor daily temperature checks as per HACCP
  • Ensure Food Safe standards are maintained
  • Communicate any issues with food products to the appropriate manager
  • Complete daily opening and/or closing checklists
  • Adhere to uniform standards
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience in a similar culinary role is required 
  • Valid Food Safe Level 1 will be required to be maintained throughout employment
  • Willingness to complete a Police Information Check is required
  • Valid Basic First Aid, CPR-C and AED Certification, or equivalent will be required to be maintained throughout employment
