Tired of working indoors in a stuffy hotel or restaurant? The Redwoods Golf Course in North Langley is currently seeking an experienced Banquet Captain / Shift Supervisor to assist in the execution of the Food and Beverage department’s very busy summer of events!  As a golf course we not only host several tournaments throughout the year but have also become one of the Fraser Valley’s premier destinations for outdoor weddings and banquets. This full time, seasonal position starts in April that will go right through into October.

The right candidate will possess several of the following skills:

• Minimum 3 years of restaurant or banquet experience, some spent in a supervisory or leadership role
• Be able to multitask and think on their feet
• Be organized and display effective time management skills
• Be outgoing and confident when interacting with the public
• Have flexible availability as shift times will include all day parts, including evenings and weekends.
• Be able to withstand long hours on their feet and occasionally work overtime.
• Strong background of serving and bartending

Your role would include the following:

• Leading a team of up to 10 service staff to execute a successful event from beginning to end
• Assist the Food & Beverage Manager with controlling of costs such as liquor and labour
• Training and developing of our banquet staff
• Coordinate and communicate with the sales department to ensure that all events go according to plan while exceeding our guest’s expectations
• Being the go-to person for tournament organizers, as well as wedding guests throughout each event
