Tired of working indoors in a stuffy hotel or restaurant? The Redwoods Golf Course is excited to be hiring for the position of an Assistant Food and Beverage Manager!  

This unique position assists in managing our seasonal restaurant and golf course food and beverage operations, which are open from March – December each year, but will also help to lead our banquet team into what will be one of our busiest years to date with weddings, golf tournaments, and banquets!

This is a full-time, year-round position. The successful applicant would have both restaurant managerial experience as well as banquet experience. This position does involve weekend, evening and holiday shifts due to the nature of the industry, and therefore having a flexible schedule is a requirement.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & ASSETS

  • Minimum 3 years of restaurant or banquet experience
  • Minimum 1 year restaurant or banquet experience in a supervisory or leadership role
  • Be able to multitask and think on their feet
  • Be organized and display effective time management skills
  • Be outgoing and confident when interacting with the public
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, guest service, and communication skills
  • Passionate about hospitality
  • Detail oriented
  • Able to train staff effectively 

 

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead a team of service staff to execute successful events, and day-to-day restaurant traffic, on a daily basis
  • Recruit and train new and returning staff
  • Ensure all team members understand and maintain operating standards
  • Monitor employees to ensure performance expectations are met and motivate employees to excel
  • Promote a positive work environment and culture by maintaining strong and supportive relationships with all team members
  • Motivate team members to strive for exceptional customer service
  • Ensure practice of health and safety regulations
  • Performance management: monitor staff performance and provide feedback
  • Ensure that wedding receptions and golf tournaments banquets are properly set up to run smoothly
  • Lead by example as a proactive team player
  • Assist the Food & Beverage Manager with controlling of costs such as liquor and labour
  • Coordinate and communicate with the Sales department to ensure that all events go according to plan while exceeding our guest’s expectations
